TRAINING SCHEDULE

September 8, 2020 - December 30, 2020

2020 - 2021 Registration.  Return to WIATC Aquatic Protocol ( Click here )
Given the uncertainty of the times we are going to run a September 8 to December 31,2020 program block.
This way, if restrictions ease (or tighten) heading into the new year we can adjust for our next program block.
Pools: The city of Windsor is planning to open WIATC for fall 2020 with restrictions on the number of people allowed into the facility.
Membership numbers: With COVID and return to swim protocols and numbers, WEST will be allowed to have a limited number of swimmers. We are hoping to increase those numbers as the fall transpires. This is not an ideal situation, however SwimCanada and the other regulatory organizations are dictating how many swimmers will be allowed back this September and beyond.

WEST reviewed/passed future swim fee with the objective of doing what is best for the club’s long-term sustainability and respectful treatment of all our returning members.
The analysis considered WEST programming, expected operating expenses until year-end of December 31, 2020. WEST will be reviewing the budget (swimmer numbers per lane) in order to make any adjustments that should benefit our membership.
Fees are based on the number of practices per week. Families should make a full payment to complete registration.
Refund will be available for pool cancellations only.

Type assignment is based on the swimmers age as of December 31,2020 in the current season. Swimmers attending an educational institution outside of Canada wishing to compete for their Canadian Age Group club must be registered directly with the club in the Competitive-Open type.
No "in person" competitions will be organized in Ontario before January 2021. WEST will be a part of Western Ontario virtual competitions circle.
I recommend to register swimmers as Pre-Competitive.

Before registering a new swimmer with the WEST, we like to have swimmers do an assessment to help us recommend the best starting point in our programs. The in-water assessment allows us see what the swimmer is capable of in the water. After the assessment, a coach will speak with families about their recommendation and provide you with the information about registration. Assessment is for swimmers who are able to swim in the deep-end unassisted. Swimmers need to be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool continuously without touching the bottom.
If you are interested in signing up for this assessment, please contact Andrei at windsorswim@yahoo.ca to be put on the wait list.

Parameters of Change Room Use:

·         Masks are mandatory in the change rooms.

o   As you all know, masks are the first thing athletes are to put back on after exiting the pool. This includes a quick washroom break during a practice.

·         Change room capacities are 14 people for each change room.

o   If a large group of athletes are done at the same time, we ask that athletes go into the change rooms in waves to help maintain physical distancing.

o   Coaches, please assist with this the best you can.

·         Athletes must continue to arrive ready to swim.

o   The change rooms are for restroom use and changing out of wet bathing suits after their swim is complete.

·         Lockers, showers and hand dryers are currently not available.

·         The change rooms have been labeled for physical distancing. Please remind athletes to follow the 2 metres apart rule.
